Trip to Chimney Bluffs State Park
From the picture above, you might think Kristina and I traveled
back to the badlands of South Dakota.
We actually are in New York, on the shores of Lake Ontario at
Chimney Bluffs State Park. We took advantage of the relatively
low(er) weekend temperatures to go exploring a bit.

The cliffs are continuing to erode and make new formations.
A lot of unfortunate trees that had recently fallen
littered the beach below. As with most things in Upstate New York, these
features are at least indirectly related to the glaciers from the last
ice-age. The cliffs are caused by the lake eroding away a drumlin, a
big pile of clay and rocks left behind when the glacier was melting.
