Onward to Vermont
It was getting later in the day, so we pressed onward towards Vermont.
We passed near the highest point in Massachusetts,
Mt. Greylock.
Then suddenly came across an
unexpected college town in what
seemed to be the middle of nowhere.
But finally arrived in Vermont. This was the first time I've been there,
and the last New England state I had not visited yet. We had no plans to
stop anywhere in Vermont, but randomly on Route 30 we passed a cool looking
quarry in Dorset and stopped.
Apparently this is the oldest marble quarry in the US, but now is used for
swimming. Lots of marble blocks scattered around.
