On the way to Natural Bridge
After leaving Wahconah we headed north again. We passed the
Newsboy Monument in Great Barrington, and a statue of William McKinley
in Adams.
Eventually we arrives at the
Natural Bridge State Park
near North Adams, Mass. (Another good link including geology info is
here).
We hiked up the hill (park was closed, and bridge was under construction)
to the site where they used to quarry marble. Then you can climb to the
top and look at the natural bridge.
More impressive was the gorge carved by the stream.
The wet marble at the bottom of the gorge was amazing looking.
