A trip to Hammond Hill State Forest
We went to
Hammond Hill State Forest in nearby Dryden.
It was a pleasant hike, though a bit muddy. We saw all kinds of nature,
from frog eggs to hawks and wildflowers. Here's a flower we saw, it's
a Round Leaf Yellow Violet:
In the upper part of the park you climb to a pretty impressive height.
Through the trees you look down upon the surrounding countryside, including
Dryden Lake:

Driving home, we passed by the birthplace of
John Miller, the first governor
of North Dakota.
